RespiQ and Balthazar team up on AIMSense, backed by the MIT R&D Collaboration–AI grant
RespiQ and Balthazar combine machine learning, data infrastructure and photonic sensing research to work toward portable, non-invasive gas sensing.

High-precision gas sensing involves a familiar trade-off: portable technology often lacks accuracy, while lab-grade equipment is too bulky for everyday use.
RespiQ and Balthazar are working together on AIMSense, supported by the Dutch MIT R&D Collaboration–AI Grant. The project pairs RespiQ’s existing machine learning and data infrastructure with Balthazar’s platform.
The collaboration aims to accelerate research, optimise sensor performance and identify molecular patterns in photonic sensing hardware.
AIMSense is working toward portable, non-invasive gas sensing, starting with applications in respiratory and gut health. This is a funded research collaboration, not a finished clinical product.
